Overview
St. Bartholomew’s Hospital seeks a dynamic and motivated Research Fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology for a 4-month fixed term contract within the Cardiac Research Department.
The post has been designed as a research position for one person over 4 months. The objective is to continue ongoing mapping studies, support new research with the opportunity to develop independent research, and publish in the field. The post holder will provide knowledge and technical support to clinical and research teams and should have registrar-level experience in general cardiology, electrophysiology and device therapy, with hands-on experience in invasive cardiac electrophysiology mapping systems. Experience with the CardioInsight Non-invasive 3D Mapping System is desirable.
Responsibilities
* Continue ongoing mapping studies and support new research studies, with the opportunity to develop own research.
* Publish research material and present at national and international conferences.
* Act as a source of knowledge and technical support to clinical and research teams.
* Demonstrate hands-on knowledge in using invasive cardiac electrophysiology mapping systems.
* Desirable: experience with the CardioInsight Non-invasive 3D Mapping System.
* Carry out clinical research and publish in the field while consolidating practical experience.
* Dedicate 75% of time to research and 25% to clinical activities including outpatient and inpatient care and participation in catheterisation lab procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
* Registrar level with significant experience of general cardiology and, in particular, electrophysiology and device therapy.
