About us
HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life‑changing justice. We’re looking for individuals who are committed to public service and making a difference in people’s lives to deliver justice.
Your role
As a Team Leader, you will lead your team to deliver excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management. You will prioritise and organise the team’s work, ensuring it meets objectives and is fully skilled. Your responsibilities include:
* Monitoring and analysing performance areas and trends; conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices.
* Providing statistical data for the management team and judiciary.
* Recommending improvements, navigating change, and managing the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
* Supporting the overall wellbeing of your team and motivating them to succeed.
Skills and experience
* Ability to motivate and support your team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience in an administrative role within a customer‑focussed environment.
* IT proficiency and ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Working patterns and location
* Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week, office based to provide HMCTS services to the public.
* Part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing patterns are considered where they meet the demands of the role and business needs; agreed prior to appointment.
* Location: Port Talbot Justice Centre, Harbourside Road, Port Talbot, SA13 1SB.
* Occasional travel between Mid and West Wales sites will be required.
Immigration and sponsorship
Skilled Worker Visa – This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas in accordance with the current immigration rules. From 22 July 2025, the Government increased the salary threshold and skills level for Skilled Worker visas. The role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship unless you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously since before 22 July 2025. If you have, raise this during your vetting checks.
