Overview
Registered Mental Health Nurse - Seren Lodge Mother and Baby Unit. Permanent, full-time or part-time Band 5 posts based at Seren Lodge Mother and Baby Unit, Chester. Serene Lodge is a new unit opening October 2025, offering care for women with mental health problems during pregnancy and the year after birth.
Responsibilities
* We are building a supportive, multi-disciplinary team working on a rotational shift basis including day and night shifts.
* Provide high-quality care for service users and support an excellent training and preceptorship programme.
* Demonstrate understanding and application of the 6 Cs in practice: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.

Qualifications (Essential):
* RMN
* Ongoing registration with the appropriate professional body
* Evidence of continuous professional development that supports clinical practice
Knowledge and expertise (Essential):
* Excellent verbal and written communication
* Strong research-based knowledge and practical nursing skills
* Understanding of basic management principles
* Ability to work unsupervised
* Positive approach to Information Technology
* Knowledge of safeguarding principles and safeguarding management
* Up-to-date knowledge of current mental health legislation
* Ability to work compassionately with patients, families and carers
Desirable:
* Knowledge of perinatal mental health conditions
Experience (Essential):
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience in writing comprehensive care plans and documenting risk assessments
Experience (Desirable):
* Post-graduate experience
* Experience liaising with other services
* Experience of clinical supervision
