Band 5/6 Podiatrist (Development Post) Highland Podiatry Centre
Work base: Abban Street, Inverness, providing Out-Reach clinics to Badenoch & Strathspey.
This is an exciting post also open to recent graduates who wish to increase their clinical skills. The role may include a significant mentorship period covering advanced clinical techniques, including nail surgery, Post Tibial blocks, deep enucleations, needling/blunt dissections of verrucae, MSK podiatry, and wound care management of high-risk limbs.
No previous experience is necessary, although an understanding of the philosophy of care aims is desirable. The candidate may be employed at a Band 6 level.
You will have a BSc qualification in Podiatric Medicine, be qualified in L.A and nail surgery, and registered with the HPC.
Inverness offers good transport links and access to the outdoors, making it an ideal base for those who enjoy outdoor activities.
The South & Mid Podiatry team, part of NHS Highland Podiatry Department, meets regularly. The work base is at Abban Street Clinic in Inverness.
There will be an obligation to provide outreach clinics to Badenoch & Strathspey (Aviemore, Grantown, Kingussie), about 45 minutes to an hour's drive from Inverness.
This role allows candidates to live in Inverness while experiencing remote parts of the region. Candidates should demonstrate sound professional and clinical knowledge, understanding of clinical governance, and its application.
Key requirements include good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to prioritize, plan, organize workload, and a full, current driving license.
