Your role:
As Freight Forwarder you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base.
The main purpose of your role will be to control the collection and delivery of goods on behalf of all customers. To ensure that consistently high service levels which meet, and when possible, exceeds, the performance targets as set by all customers are achieved and to ensure that the profitability of all contracts are maximised.
Key responsibilities
As a Freight Forwarder you will be responsible for efficient delivery management, customer communication and actively resolving issues along with management of claims and accounts, updating data and system while ensuring compliance and documentation.
You will:
* Ensure cost-effective collection and delivery services by effectively utilizing group and subcontracted resources, while meeting service standards.
* Keep customers informed at all times, especially during service failures, and liaise closely with hauliers to ensure accurate job completion.
* Handle all delivery-related queries and incidents (e.g., refused loads, damages), and resolve any issues with purchase invoices.
* Update in-house systems post-delivery and ensure accurate invoicing. Prepare reports to monitor profit margins and support financial accuracy.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, particularly for hazardous loads, and maintain proper documentation.
* Manage key accounts to benefit both the company and the customer. Raise service incidents and file insurance claims when needed.
* Understand core and support procedures relevant to the role and utilize systems such as SAP for planning UK and European road loads.
Your profile
As a Freight Forwarder, you have exceptional management and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and drive collaboration
You will:
* Experience within the logistics industry
* Demonstrate accuracy and a good eye for detail.
* Previous experience in a customer focused operational role.
* Educated to a good standard with Maths and English
* Good knowledge of computer packages (Microsoft).
* Strong communication skills, able to liaise with people at all levels competently and professionally.
* Good organisational skills including the ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines.
