Maintenance Technician
Location: Chaldon, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £13.75 £14.39 per hour / £28,600 £29,931.20 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week (hours to be agreed with line manager)
We are currently looking to recruit aMaintenance Technician to join a newly opened specialist secondary school supporting young people aged 1116 with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, often associated with Autism based in Chaldon.
The Role
You will ensure the school site, grounds, and equipment are maintained to a high standard, supporting a safe and functional learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your work will help safeguard health, safety, and general wellbeing across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Complete maintenance tasks efficiently and proactively
2. Respond to maintenance requests using online ticketing software
3. Assist with movement and installation of furniture and equipment
4. Maintain and check vehicles, including mileage logs and usage registers
5. Ensure safe storage of tools, equipment, materials, and keys
6. Assist with regular inspections of building services, utilities, and fabric
7. Carry out minor repairs, including carpentry, painting/decorating, and furniture fixes
