The role is an office-based position responsible for carrying out take-offs, bills of quantities, cost plans, and tenders for the employer’s client base, which includes contractors, sub-contractors, developers, and private clients.

Responsibilities and Duties
The Senior Estimator's duties and responsibilities will include:
* Setting up estimating files upon receipt of enquiries, both electronically and on paper, and completing any further filing/addendums as needed.
* Maintaining and updating archives.
* Interfacing with all supply chain members, including suppliers and subcontractors, on all aspects related to tenders from enquiry to contract award.
* Chasing quotations from suppliers, sub-contractors, and manufacturers.
* Completing estimating tasks independently.
* Answering incoming calls, taking messages, or redirecting as appropriate.
* Performing general support and administrative duties as required.
* Providing support to colleagues and the accounts team during peak periods.
Desired Skills and Experience
* At least 5 years of estimating experience in a professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) practice or main contracting firm.
* Experience in take-offs and pricing for residential new builds.
* Familiarity with SMM7, NRM3, and major measurement methods.
* Knowledge of all major forms of contract, especially JCT.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience with other estimating and take-off software.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Good understanding of the building industry.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* A degree or equivalent in a construction-related field is preferred.
