Overview
Peripatetic Early Years Family Learning Practitioner - PKC13136 is a part-time, full year role based at Perth Grammar School, Perth, covering a range of Early Learning & Childcare settings across Perth & Kinross. The post is fixed term ending 31 March 2026, with a salary of £15,344 - £16,433 (18 hours per week).
The role focuses on delivering high quality family learning and parental engagement to support children’s learning and development in the early years.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of family learning and parental engagement within a range of ELC settings.
* Organise and deliver family learning opportunities in the local community to build positive relationships with families.
* Work directly with parents and families to enable them to support their children’s learning and development at home.
* Contribute to programmes such as Peep Learning Together, Eat Well Play Well, Bookbug, Incredible Years, Peep Progression Pathway, Play on Pedals, and related activities.
* Engage with parents, carers, children, and communities to promote inclusion and accessible learning opportunities.
Skills & Experience Required
* Qualify at an appropriate level e.g. SNNEB, NNEB, HNC, SCQF level 7 equivalent or SVQ 3 in Childcare and Education or SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People).
* Genuine interest and commitment to working with families in a professional capacity.
* Experience supporting families in an ELC setting and understanding of national and local policies and frameworks.
* Experience and skills in engaging with parents, young people or children; experience in organising groups and delivering learning programmes; commitment to inclusion.
* IT and computer skills; strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities; flexible to work at various times and locations.
* Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel across Perth and Kinross.
* Experience and skills in group work; training in Peep Learning Together or Solihull Approach can be provided; understanding the importance of play.
