Position Overview
The Senior Clinical Fellow (SCF) role is located at North Manchester General Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital (MFT). The post will include placements in both Infectious Diseases and Genitourinary Medicine, with the possibility of clinical activities at other MFT sites.
The appointment is for a 12‑month period, commencing around August 2026.
Responsibilities
* Provide high quality clinical care across inpatient and outpatient settings in Infectious Diseases and Genitourinary Medicine.
* Formulate appropriate diagnostic and management plans, taking patient preferences into account.
* Supervise junior colleagues and offer advice and support when required.
* Act professionally, recognising personal limitations and liaising with senior colleagues when necessary.
* Be responsive and flexible to the varying needs of the department, demonstrating strong team‑working skills.
* Maintain a portfolio of progress and personal development under the supervision of an Education Supervisor.
Eligibility & Training
The post is not a formally recognised HENW training position, but it offers a comparable experience and supports the development of a portfolio of clinical and educational progress.
Sponsorship
MFT is not a right‑to‑work sponsoring organisation for Tier 5. Candidates requiring Tier 5 sponsorship must apply through the Academy of Royal College via the MTI Scheme.
