Job Overview
The practice is looking for 8 sessions of GP Salaried Role including extended hours per week, which are flexible. This could be one GP or a Job share. In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including Face to Face and Telephone consultations, Share of Duty Cover. They will help to lead the MDT including leadership and oversight of our new ChatDoc streaming service which is managed by the Duty Doctor and wider team. There will be an opportunity to develop areas of interest. The successful candidate will be a proactive and key addition to the Practice Team - they will be expected to actively participate in practice meetings. We offer a competitive salary, NHS pensions, six weeks holiday, and one week of study leave pro rata.

About us
The practice is based in the Downham Health & Leisure Centre with full compliment of primary care employees. We have 3 GP Partners, 2 PA's, 2 nurses, 2 Clinical Pharmacists 2 Salaried GP's, 1 practice manager and a full compliment of administration and reception staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP to join a forward thinking and innovative practice in the Downham Health & Leisure Centre Moorside Clinic, part of the ICO Health Group. We have a 10,500-patient list size in a suburban patient population with wide ranging health needs. The practice is based in the modern purpose built Downham Health & Leisure Centre and is easily accessible by public transport and easy parking on-site.
Working collaboratively with our PCN, ICB and other neighbouring practices, our MDT team consists of 3 GP Partners, 3 Associate GPs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 2 Physician Associates and 2 Practice Nurses, who are very well supported by an established management and administrative team. The post holder will manage a diverse suburban patient caseload with wide ranging health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care.
We have partnered with Doctaly Assist ( to develop our ChatDoc digital pathway to improve access for our patients and we feel this role would suit Portfolio GPs who are looking to develop their leadership skills and get involved in service transformation. As part of this role, you will develop a deep understanding of how General Practice contracting works, learn about Health Technology development and support digital transformation. One of our partners is the Primary Care Chief Clinical Information Officer for Southeast London ICB and will be on hand to provide support and mentorship.

Main Duties
The post holder will work within the practice clinical team to deliver effective, high-quality care, treatment and advice to our patients through face to face, telephone, video and online consultations, making every contact count!
If desired the post holder can be supported to develop leadership role within the clinical / practice team.
The position involves supporting the practice to deliver its core responsibilities but also to help transform the way it delivers these in a sustainable way. Ideally, we are looking for someone who with support and mentorship will be willing trial new ways of working and to ensure a Customer Service led approach to delivering patient care to our population.
Support with the normal duties of a GP working in primary care, including (for example):
Face to Face Clinics, telephone, video, and online consultations.
Referring patients to other organisations where clinically indicated.
Prescribing in accordance with patients' needs, adhering to guidance and prescription reviews.
Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with good practice.
QOF/local contract work as agreed.
Participation in the on-call rota (duty doctor) and home visits (rare as we utilise the One Health Lewisham Paramedic Home Visit Service).
Participation in the educational supervisor rota (after suitable induction and assessment period).
All clinical administration.
Person Specification
Essential
Must be fully qualified MRCGP GP with Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), GMC Registration and provide the practice with any relevant certification. Must be on the performers list with eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
Desirable
A GP with interest in developing leadership skills and looking to progress. A passion for service transformation and interest in Digital Health.
