Working hours per week: Monday - Friday 7:00 - 15:00, optional overtime weekend & Night work. 40hrs/week Start date : September 2026 Apprenticeship Link: Welder / Skills England As part of your Apprenticeship, you will be enrolled onto a Welder level 2 apprenticeship which will take approximately 21 months to complete. You will be fully supported by our partnered college to achieve this qualification, having 1-2-1 advice and support, e-learning materials, and a whole team of experts on hand for advice and technical knowledge at your office. Severn Bridges is working in partnership with National Highways on the Specialist Bridges Inspection & Maintenance contract across three major structures in the Southwest of England over a 15-year period. This includes: M5 Avonmouth Bridge, M4 Prince of Wales Bridge and M48 Severn Bridge. We are responsible for cyclic maintenance, daily structural inspection checks, safety patrols, and responding to incidents affecting structural integrity. What you will do: Repair known defects to the structures to comply to specification. Fabrication of new design requirements. Comply to all site applicable procedures. An element of the role will require working at height on the structures, from MEWPS and static elevated working platforms. Reporting of incidents, accidents & close calls. What you will bring: If you do not hold GCSE/Functional Skills qualifications, you must achieve a minimum of Entry Level 3 in Maths and English during initial assessment. Full driving License. DBS requirement. Good understanding of Health & Safety. Passion for developing your skills both professional and personally.
