Job Title: Research Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Research and Development Department at Epsom & St Helier Universities NHS Trust as a Research Assistant. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual eager to work in a Clinical Research Environment.
You will be part of the Research Team, supporting and delivering high-quality research. The maternity research team covers various specialties, with potential opportunities to support other NIHR activities during periods of reduced workload in the maternity portfolio.
The post holder will work at either Epsom or St Helier Hospital but may also support research activities across other disciplines within the Trust, depending on capacity and your capabilities.
Essential skills include excellent organizational and IT skills, a proactive attitude, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. An understanding of research principles is helpful; however, training will be provided.
It is recommended to visit the department or speak with the team when applying.
Main Responsibilities
1. Research Data Management and Quality: Collect patient data from notes and electronic systems, ensure data accuracy and completeness, check validity, and meet reporting timeframes. Liaise with MDTs and resolve queries.
2. Patient Recruitment and Retention: Liaise with participants, perform point-of-care tests if competent, book and follow up research visits, support data monitoring, and conduct telephone follow-ups. Handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
3. Meetings and Administration: Attend study setup, advertising, and reporting meetings. Ensure smooth setup and administration of visits.
