My client is a new brand for our used car division, and we have an amazing opportunity for an experienced MOT Tester/Technician to join our talented team.
The Vehicle Technician & MOT Tester will be confident in conducting all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repairs, as well as conducting MOTs. You will enjoy working on a variety of cars, maintain a professional attitude, and ensure the highest quality of service. Main Responsibilities
1. Conduct vehicle preparation, servicing, maintenance, and repair on a variety of makes and models
2. Utilise your technical knowledge to inspect the engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment
3. Carry out DVSA vehicle testing
4. Repair and replace broken or defective parts to resolve vehicle defects
5. Liaise with customers where necessary
6. Road test vehicles to check for faults and repairs
7. Support other Technicians in the Workshop
8. Follow checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
9. Complete all documentation to the required standard
The Ideal Candidate
1. Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
2. Excellent team player and communication skills
3. Maintain high standards of housekeeping
4. A full UK driving license
5. Hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent, or relevant experience
6. A current valid MOT License is an advantage but not essential; the company will cover the cost if needed
Hours: 40 hours per week, spread over 5 days across 7 days, with a day off mid-week and a Sunday rota.
