Job Description
We are recruiting Urban Drainage Modellers across our UK offices, including Cardiff, Belfast, Bristol, Derby, Edinburgh, Epsom, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Peterborough, and Warrington. Join a team of engineers, modellers, geographers, GIS specialists, and technicians working on projects for Water Companies, Local Authorities, developers, and potentially international clients.
The Urban Drainage Modelling team is part of the Asset Planning & Solutions practice, focusing on water and wastewater projects such as designing water supply networks, trunk mains, and drainage systems to mitigate flooding and pollution. Projects involve feasibility studies using computer modelling and analysis to support operational and environmental decisions.
Experience or familiarity with urban drainage modelling in InfoWorks ICM (or CS), GIS packages like ARC or MapInfo, and civil engineering is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. Responsibilities include working on feasibility studies, site visits, liaising with stakeholders, and producing short reports outlining findings.
Senior roles require experience in model building, hydraulic and water quality analysis, catchment planning, Drainage and Wastewater Management Planning (DWMP), and technical leadership.
Requirements:
* BSc/BEng/MEng degree in geography, GIS, science, engineering, or related fields; professional qualifications for senior roles.
* Technician roles require HNC or HND qualifications; opportunities for further qualification are available.
Responsibilities:
* Develop computer models to investigate flooding and environmental issues, and propose solutions.
* Analyze data and support report development.
* Conduct site surveys and walkovers.
* Prepare health and safety risk assessments.
The Individual:
We seek motivated individuals eager to learn and develop their technical skills, whether early in their careers or aiming for senior leadership. The ability to work collaboratively is essential.
What we offer:
Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance, including options for part-time, remote, and flexible hours. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from all backgrounds.
Rewards and Benefits:
Competitive salary, 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell leave. Benefits are aligned with experience and qualifications.
Additional Information:
This role may require security clearance, with employment contingent upon obtaining the necessary clearance. Candidates must have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. We promote a diverse, inclusive community and are an Equal Opportunities Employer.
