Job role: Yr 1 Teacher

Days per week: Full time fixed term contract

Location: Tewkesbury

Your new role:

Thrive Education are working with a school in Tewkesbury who are looking to appoint a KS1 teacher to cover maternity leave from Easter 2026.

The role is teaching a lovely class of 23 pupils, and the school itself has a genuinely supportive SLT who strike a great balance: clear policies and expectations, but absolutely not a rigid “my way or the highway” environment. Your professional judgement, experience, and individual teaching style will be valued. There’s plenty of autonomy to adapt, go off piste where appropriate, and shape learning to meet the needs of the class and individual children.

Within this role you will also be expected to:

•Create a positive learning environment.

•Work cohesively with the regular teaching assistant

•Effectively manage the behaviour of pupils

•Show secure subject knowledge to support learning.

•Follow school policy regarding behaviour management systems.

•Build relationships with the pupils and staff.

Who are Thrive Education?

"Placing Professionals, not just plugging gaps!’’

Our mission is to use our combined experience in recruitment and teaching to offer a recruitment experience that rises above that offered by our competitors in an already crowded and established field.

Thrive Education is a bespoke supply teaching agency whose key focus is to establish and maintain a genuine partnership between the settings that use it and the staff it places. This approach benefits both the schools and the Thrive teachers as assignments are always carefully matched and well thought out; after all no one gains from incompatible placements, least of all the pupils.

We recognise how crucial it is to take the time to talk to schools in a detailed way to gain a proper understanding of each setting’s unique characteristics, values, challenges, priorities and needs. This understanding is the bedrock of creating successful staffing solutions.

'Rather than simply plugging gaps, Thrive Education expertly places professionals’

Thrive works with dynamic and highly motivated teachers who are confident they can do a great job in their areas of expertise. Joining Thrive means becoming part of a select team of professionals all sharing the desire to make a positive impact regardless of the timeframe of the placement and feeling valued as an asset within an organisation where quality counts.

At Thrive Education we understand that Supply Teaching is a lifestyle choice, not just for people who 'cannot get a job'. Working for Thrive Education lets you choose what days and which schools you like to work for. So, whether you want full-time supply, or casual work to fit around your current schedule, we can certainly help you!

Required skills and experience:
