Position Details
Information Officer ASC (Adult Social Care Information & Advice Service) – Permanent, full‑time, based at Dakota, Weybridge.
About The Role
Respond to enquiries from the public and professionals about adult social care, providing clear information on local care and support services, funding options, and the application process. Act as the first point of contact, managing enquiries within service level targets and prioritising based on urgency and risk. Coordinate with colleagues across Surrey, assist residents and families, gather background information, and support partner agencies. Play a key role in emergency responses, working with police and ambulance to deploy resources quickly.
After induction, work 4 days a week in the office for up to 12 weeks, then a hybrid pattern (2 office days, 3 home days). Flexibility is required to meet team or service needs.
Responsibilities
* Respond to enquiries from the public and professionals, providing clear, comprehensive information about local care and support services.
* Manage each interaction within agreed service level targets and prioritise based on urgency and risk.
* Coordinate timely responses with colleagues across Surrey.
* Gather background information from residents and families to support partner agencies.
* Engage in emergency responses, working alongside police and ambulance to deploy resources quickly and efficiently.
* Use IT systems accurately to record and update information in databases.
* Attend induction and training, then work flexibly across office and home locations.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good understanding of social care and health issues, with basic awareness of public sector and voluntary agencies.
* Experience providing high levels of customer care and professionalism to the public.
* Empathy when dealing with sensitive calls and situations.
* Excellent IT skills and accurate use of databases.
* Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
* High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Relevant experience combined with a natural capacity for empathy.

Additional Information
