About Acute Cognitive Unit and PsychogeriatricConsultation Service
The Psychogeriatric Consultation Service (SPCS) is a consultation liaison service that operatesacross the Gold Coast University and Robina hospitals to provide consultationservices for patients in general medical-surgical units, and othernon-geriatric focused areas. The AcuteCognitive Unit (ACU) isdedicated to managing patients living with dementia and experiencing severeBehavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), providing a highlystructured environment with psychogeriatric support.
About your new role
As a valued member of the ACU and SPCS teams, you will provideprofessional and clinical leadership, advanced level consultation and evidencebased psychological services within a collaborative multidisciplinaryframework.This includes:
· Providing advanced level, psychology services of a highly complex andvaried nature to patients
· Using and model authoritative counsel, high level problem solving andcritical thinking to develop solutions for complex problems
· Providing high level advice to a range of health professionals,supervisors, managers and stakeholders regarding professional andinterprofessional management of patients
· Leading and contributing to clinical governance and professionalcompetence in psychology at a service and statewide level
Qualifications
* A tertiarydegree in Psychology (or equivalent)
* Possessionof a board recognised post-graduate qualification (e.g. Master’s Degree,DPsych, PhD)
* Area ofpractice endorsement (e.g. Clinical or Health) with the Psychology Boardof Australia
* AHPRARegistration
* Driverlicence
* Evidence ofvaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinatedagainst - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosisscreening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declarationof serious discipline history must be disclosed
* CriminalHistory Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
