Full-time position – £25k to £27K pro rata (dependent on experience) and comprehensive benefits - actual pay based on 25 hours per week of £16,667 to £18,000

Your Responsibilities

As a Finance and Administration Assistant you will have responsibility for providing support to the Finance Manager and across the Blue Box IT team, ensuring that all customer queries are responded to and resolved to a high level of customer satisfaction, and key finance and HR tasks as completed quickly and efficiently.

This is a varied role for an individual that relishes a daily challenge, working in a team of experienced colleagues in an exciting environment, with a constant opportunity to develop and learn new skills and knowledge, leading to the potential for career progression in a number of different areas.

The customer experience is at the heart of everything that Blue Box IT provides so it's important you enjoy the daily challenge of a customer focused environment. You will have a track record of working in similar support role or are looking for your first role following a period of relevant study or apprenticeship.

The Role

This role will involve the following key responsibilities:-

* Data Entry & Record Keeping: Inputting financial transactions into accounting software, ensuring accuracy in accounts, and maintaining financial records.
* Bank Reconciliations: Checking and reconciling the company's bank statements to ensure they match internal records.
* Invoice Processing: Handling incoming invoices from vendors, matching them to purchase orders.
* Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assisting in managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly or quarterly financial reports, helping to identify discrepancies or trends.
* Generate renewal Quotes for existing contracts.
* General Administrative Support: Providing administrative support to the finance team.
* Answer and direct phone calls and emails in a professional manner.
* Assist with data entry and updating internal databases with correct contact information.
* Support HR with administrative tasks such as onboarding documentation
* Perform general administrative tasks when required to support the wider team

Required Knowledge and Experience

* Some experience in an accounting or finance role would be beneficial, with AAT level 2/3 an advantage.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Attention to Detail: Accuracy is will be critical in this role.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Proficiency in Accounting Software: Familiarity with software like Xero, Sage, or similar tools.
* Basic Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
* Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly and professionally with other departments, vendors, and clients.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve discrepancies in financial records and find solutions to issues.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads effectively
* A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn

Education

* Minimum 5 GCSEs (at Grade C or above) including Math's and English or equivalent L2 apprenticeship qualification.
