Job overview
This is a part-time post for 22.5 hours per week. We seek an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 7 nurse who can serve as a positive role model and advocate for the Paediatric Epilepsy service at Royal Berkshire Hospital. Responsibilities include providing specialist interdisciplinary education and training, influencing service development locally and nationally, leading clinical audits, and participating in research and projects related to epilepsy.
The post holder will support the Epilepsy Clinical Lead and team to ensure effective planning and delivery of programs, manage a complex caseload of children and young people (CYP) with epilepsy, and coordinate care across multiple settings and services. This includes establishing referral pathways, supporting transitions to adult services, liaising with community paediatric services, and developing training models for emergency medication use in schools.
Candidate requirements
Essential criteria:
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
* Registered nurse (Child)
Desirable criteria:
* Experience working at or towards Band 7
* Nurse prescriber or working towards qualification
* Experience in paediatric epilepsy nursing and community settings
* Several years post-qualification experience in epilepsy
* Knowledge of epilepsy policies and best practices
