We now have an opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Domestic Assistant to join our team at St Luke’s Hospital on a permanent contract.
About the Role
As a Domestic Assistant, you will deliver a high-quality cleaning service within ward and clinical areas at St Luke’s Hospital. Working to NHS National Cleaning Standards and local cleaning schedules, you will help maintain a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
This is a site-based role at St Luke’s Hospital — no travel between sites is required.
Full training will be provided.
Salary is £25.272 (Pro Rata)
Who You Are
You are dependable, conscientious and take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness in a healthcare environment. You work well as part of a team, follow procedures carefully and understand the importance of your role in supporting patient care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver cleaning services in line with NHS Property Services standards and schedules
2. Maintain clean and hygienic ward and clinical environments to support infection prevention
3. Carry out duties such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning sanitary areas
4. Undertake periodic and deep cleaning tasks as required
5. Safely handle and dispose of clinical and general waste
6. Use cleaning equipment and materials safely, following COSHH guidance
7. Replenish consumables such as soap, hand towels and toilet tissue
8. Report hazards, incidents or maintenance issues using agreed processes
Hours and Working Pattern
9. 20.94 hours per week
10. Working 4–5 days per week on a rotating 8 week rota
11. Shift times include: 07:00 – 12:3008:00 – 12:0013:00 – 17:00
12. Includes every other weekend
