Here at Concept, we have a fantastic opportunity for an SHEQ Co-Ordinator to join a well-established construction company specializing in civil engineering, industrial, commercial, automotive projects, and fit-out works. Our client's projects range from £10k to £8m and include some of the most innovative and sustainable developments in the industry. As an SHEQ Co-Ordinator, you will drive health and safety excellence and support the business in ensuring that safety is a top priority in all activities, implementing best practices throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Attend site meetings as the SHEQ representative.
2. Assist the business in maintaining high levels of SHEQ and accreditations such as Achilles Building Confidence, Construction Line Gold, and Safe Contractor.
3. Provide effective and high-quality health and safety advice to all employees, communicating regularly and proactively.
4. Produce Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements in conjunction with the operations team.
5. Champion health and safety on site.
6. Carry out Toolbox Talks with site delivery teams.
7. Review and update the Training Matrix for employees as required.
8. Inform management and site teams of any legislative changes.
9. Conduct site and office inspections/audits in conjunction with site supervision.
10. Support and promote accident/incident reporting in line with internal policies and procedures.
11. Assist with the Integrated Management System to maintain compliance and promote continual improvement.
12. Support accident/incident investigations when applicable.
13. Carry out internal audits on the Integrated Management System and supporting processes at planned intervals to ensure conformity with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001 standards.
14. Produce reports identifying areas for improvement within current business operations.
15. Assist Business Development with sub-contractor vetting.
16. Support senior management in the review and updating of policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
17. Perform other tasks as directed by senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
IOSH/NEBOSH National General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety with at least 5 years of experience.
