Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a positive role model with a genuine interest in the well-being and development of young people. You will be responsible for planning and leading activities, supervising children, and ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Delivery:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver a diverse range of age-appropriate activities, including creative arts, sports, games, and educational workshops.
* Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement engaging and inclusive program schedules.
* Adapt activities to meet the needs and interests of individual children and the group as a whole.
Supervision and Safeguarding:
* Ensure the safety and welfare of all children at all times, adhering to EM3 Kids Club's safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Supervise children during activities, meal times, and free play, maintaining a high level of vigilance.
* Respond effectively to incidents, accidents, or behavioral issues in a calm and professional manner.
Child and Youth Engagement:
* Build positive and trusting relationships with children, acting as a mentor and positive role model.
* Encourage participation and engagement in activities, ensuring all children feel included and valued.
* Listen to and address the concerns and ideas of the children.
Administrative and Team Support:
* Assist with the setup and pack-down of the club space, ensuring a clean and organised environment.
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance registers and incident reports.
* Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and the Club Manager.
* Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Proven experience working with children or young people in a paid or voluntary capacity (e.g., in a school, youth club, or community setting).
* A strong understanding of child development and the needs of young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A positive, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to work.
* The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles.
Desirable:
* A qualification in Youth Work, Childcare, Education, or a related field.
* First Aid and/or Safeguarding certification.
* Specific skills or experience in a relevant area (e.g., sports coaching, art, music).

Pay: £34,420.00-£38,678.12 per year
