We are currently seeking an experienced Toolroom Jig Borer to join our clients precision engineering team in West Bromwich. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the small-batch production of complex, high-precision components and be confident working independently to tight tolerances. PAY: From £15-17 per hour (Competitive rate for the right candidate) SCHEDULE: Days - Monday to Friday Experience operating Newall or Herbert Devlieg Jig Boring machines is highly preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES Operate jig boring machines to produce precision components Interpret technical drawings and specifications Perform small batch runs with a high level of accuracy Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers) Maintain tools and ensure equipment is well-calibrated Collaborate with engineers and other machinists on production needs Follow all safety and quality standards REQUIREMENTS Proven experience in a toolroom environment Jig boring experience essential (Newall or Devlieg preferred) Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Precision machining background GCSE or equivalent education (required) Ability to commute reliably or relocate to West Bromwich.
