About the Role We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Windsor that supports children with challenging behaviours, communication difficulties and complex needs. This is a demanding but rewarding position, ideal for someone resilient, proactive and passionate about making a difference.
Responsibilities include:
* Supporting pupils with significant behavioural needs and helping them to engage positively in learning.
* Using de-escalation strategies to manage incidents calmly and safely.
* Assisting children with communication difficulties, using visual aids, PECS or Makaton where appropriate.
* Encouraging independence, social development and emotional regulation through tailored activities.
* Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to follow individual learning and behaviour plans.
* Creating a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment.
* Remaining active and on your feet for much of the day.
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour.
* Confidence in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
* Patience, resilience and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
* A positive, proactive approach and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
This is a full-time role offering £89 per day, ongoing support and the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of pupils with complex needs.
