Operative - Weymouth
As an operative, you will report into the Contract Supervisor. The senior team leader will manage the day-to-day operations of the contract, working with the Contract Supervisor to ensure successful delivery.
Key responsibilities:
* Liaise with your line manager to ensure the team has the resources required to fulfill their tasks.
* Coordinate staffing requirements by producing and using reports and plans.
* Participate in interviewing and recruiting new employees, following company procedures to ensure contract compliance.
* Monitor and approve operative holidays.
* Produce scheduled and ad hoc work programmes; assist with service delivery and maintain work tick sheets.
* Prioritize team workload effectively.
* Organize maintenance of vehicles and machinery, monitoring their efficiency.
* Issue rectification and improvement notices, ensuring team understanding of the notices.
Other responsibilities:
* Communicate with customers, your line manager, and suppliers regarding work-related issues.
* Report employee absences to your line manager.
* Monitor work quality in line with inspection programmes and quality standards.
* Make service improvement recommendations.
* Ensure workforce timesheets are completed.
* Provide quotations for services.
* Support environmental standards and compliance with BS EN ISO 14001:1996.
* Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
Health and Safety:
* Act in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and company policies.
* Follow instructions from your Line Manager regarding health and safety.
* Be knowledgeable of health and safety regulations pertinent to your activities.
* Complete necessary induction and safety modules before starting work.
* Responsibility for your own and others' safety in the workplace.
* Promote safe working practices and ensure equipment safety.
* Report machinery/equipment defects immediately.
* Complete and pass maintenance sheets to your Line Manager.
* Secure machinery/equipment when not in use.
Qualifications:
Desirable qualifications include:
* Horticultural qualification or demonstrable experience in horticulture or grounds maintenance.
* Practical qualifications such as chainsaw or pesticide certification.
* CSCS card.
