Protocol Education are currently recruiting a SEND Classroom Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in the Peterlee area.
The school supports pupils with autism, learning difficulties and communication needs, providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are encouraged to develop both academically and socially.
Staff work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to ensure every pupil receives the personalised support they require.
As a Classroom Assistant, you will support pupils throughout the school day, helping them engage in lessons, develop communication skills and build confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting pupils during classroom learning activities
• Encouraging communication and social interaction
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour
• Helping pupils develop independence and life skills
The school is seeking candidates who are supportive, reliable and enthusiastic about working within SEND education.
Candidates should hold a valid DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS through Protocol Education if required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
