DIETARY AIDE
Job Summary
* Follows planned menu and receives meal orders from residents.
* Prepares food and beverages for serving based on established procedures.
* Provides food service to residents; including portioning, plating, loading, delivering and serving resident meals.
* Assists in serving plates and tray cart, including loading, delivering, and serving.
* Washes, rinses, and sanitizes glasses, dishes, silverware, service ware, etc. according to established procedures.
* Cleans and sanitizes work areas and sinks after each meal or as needed.
* Clears, cleans, and sanitizes tables.
* Sweeps and mops floors as assigned.
* Cleans cabinets, refrigerators, freezers, walls, garbage cans, carts, pantries, and other equipment in department as needed.
* Follows posted cleaning schedules.
* Assists in preparation of meals, drinks, supplements, and snacks.
* Assists with duties of the Cook and Assistant Cook as needed and/or assigned.
* In case of fire or fire drill:
o Shuts off electrical equipment.
o Closes doors.
o Reports to Nurses Station for further instructions.
* Other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
* Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
* Must purchase and wear required uniform.
* Must be able to use equipment without jeopardizing the safety of self, others or equipment.
* Must be able to use supplies economically.
* Must attend in-service training and other staff meetings as required.
* Demonstrates neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
* Must read, know and follow personnel, department, and Facility policies.
