Job Description

Matchtech is working with a key client to support the recruitment of a Rail Systems Integration Lead to work on high profile projects in Dublin, Ireland. The position is a 12 month initial contract with hybrid working, 3 days a week in Dublin.

The Rail Systems Integration Lead is responsible for overseeing the contractor’s design and construction processes. The role holder will provide technical support to the project by ensuring that the technical requirements are met whist ensuring efficient delivery of the Dublin MetroLink. The role holder is responsible for oversight of the deliver and integration of the rail systems technical aspects of the design and construction phase to achieve entry into service. The Rail System Integration Lead is responsible for ensuring the M500 Contractor applies robust system engineering processes. During the design assurance phase, the Systems Integration Lead is responsible for ensuring that the design assurance process is implemented in accordance with the MetroLink requirements and the Contractor’s processes. The role holder oversees the review of requirements traceability, interface resolution, software management, configuration accuracy, carried out by both the contractor and by the MetroLink assurers, including the Independent Certifier.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience

  • 15+ years' experience in the production of Scheme and Detailed Design reports, layouts, schematics and calculations within multi-disciplinary rail projects.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience of designing and integrating Metros systems on another large-scale infrastructure project (>EUR500m).
  • Experience in PPP Rail projects.
  • Experience with managing design resources and deliverable output.
  • Experience with project controls and report writing.
  • Experience in undertaking site surveys / site visits and reporting on asset condition.

Skills

  • Knowledge of the relevant and related engineering specifications and standards - IS, BS, EN, NFPA including relevant other international standards.
  • Knowledge of related civil, structural, and temporary works activities.
  • Knowledge of Technical Assurance to ensure products, processes and systems meet the specified standards and requirements.
  • Familiarity with design software, for example iTwin, AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS.
  • Ability to operate in a digital environment eg. CAD, iTwin..
  • Ability to manage design resources and deliverable outputs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaboratively across team boundaries, liaising with other functions and departments as required.
  • Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.
  • Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with the project.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of railway systems, including design, operations, and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to individuals and groups – both technical and non-technical.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.

Formal Education Qualifications

  • Qualification in Rail Systems discipline.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent
  • Member of a relevant professional institution
