7/8a Clinical Psychologist - Older Peoples Erewash CMHT & MAS
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist (band 7/8a) who is creative, motivated and passionate about the role that psychology can have within Older People's Mental Health Services. The post gives an exciting opportunity to build on and develop expertise in both older people's mental health and neuropsychology.
The post is offered at a band 7 or 8a (dependent on experience) with the potential for progression from band 7 to 8a through a competency-based gateway. The main duties of the job include providing assessment, formulation and interventions, conducting neuropsychological assessments for complex presentations, offering advice and consultation to colleagues, and being involved in training and development initiatives.
The successful candidate will be welcomed into a vibrant and creative team of skilled Psychologists who have extensive experience, knowledge and skill, and are passionate about working within older people's services. There are excellent opportunities for high quality supervision, and within our team we have Psychologists with further training and experience in a range of therapeutic models.
Person Specification
* Good Honours degree in Psychology (2:1 or above). Eligibility for Graduate membership of the BPS
* Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS/HCPC
* Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist by the HCPC
* Eligible for Chartered status with the BPS
Essential Experience
* Experience of working with people with a range of mental health / psychological problems and across the lifespan and a variety of settings
* Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS and HCPC.
