About You:
You’re an established infrastructure leader with deep expertise across Linux, Wintel, virtualisation, and containerisation. You can balance hands-on technical knowledge with strategic vision, and you know how to get the best out of diverse, high-performing teams.
You’ll thrive here if you are:
* Experienced in managing direct reports and building strong technical leadership capability.
* Comfortable guiding both Linux and Windows environments in secure, complex settings.
* Skilled in Cloud strategy, DevOps, and automation with tools like Terraform and Ansible.

* Naturally collaborative, but also decisive and self-sufficient when needed.
About The Team:
You’ll join our Technical Platform function, reporting directly to the CTO. The team spans Cloud, Wintel, Platform, and Technical Product Ownership and you’ll directly lead a team of 5
Key projects ahead include on-premise cloud transformation, European expansion, and new data centre build-outs. You’ll work closely with our engineering, security, and operations teams, ensuring alignment across functions and delivering at pace.
About The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Technical Platform Director to lead our Cloud and Wintel teams and shape the future of our private cloud infrastructure. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll manage 5 direct reports and act as the central escalation point across Cloud, Platform, and Technical Product Ownership, freeing up the CTO to focus on wider strategy.
This is a senior leadership role with genuine impact: you’ll set direction, guide teams, and ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and ready for the next stage of our growth, both in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & People – Manage and develop 5 direct reports, set clear objectives, and foster a culture of accountability, learning, and innovation.
Cloud Infrastructure – Architect, implement, and optimise our secure private cloud, ensuring high standards of performance, security, and scalability.
Linux & Wintel Management – Oversee stability, performance, and security across both Linux and Windows systems.
Virtualisation & Containerisation – Drive adoption of KVM, Kubernetes, and OKD with a container-first approach.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the escalation point across technical teams, ensuring priorities align with business objectives.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Bring in new ideas and emerging tech to keep our platform secure, scalable, and cost-efficient.

Requirements
What We're Looking For:
* 8+ years’ IT infrastructure leadership, with strong experience across Cloud, Linux, and Wintel.
* Proven people leadership, managing direct reports in technical teams.
* Deep expertise in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, RDS, and VDI solutions.
* Hands-on experience with private cloud, KVM, Kubernetes, OKD, and automation (Terraform, Ansible).
* Familiarity with security and compliance standards (Cyber Essentials, IASME, CCSK, etc).
* Excellent communicator who can bridge technical and business priorities.
Security Clearance Requirements
Please note that holding current SC clearance is not essential at the point of application, but eligibility is required.
This role requires the successful candidate to be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance. To meet this requirement, applicants must:
* Have the right to work in the UK
* Have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
* Not have spent more than 6 months outside the UK in total during that period
* Be willing to undergo security vetting as part of the onboarding process
