Advanced Practitioner Speech and Language Therapist – SLT AAC Coordinator

Role

This role is part of a multi‑disciplinary team. The post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence‑based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. You will provide highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with communication and/or eating, drinking, swallowing difficulties across a variety of settings.


Duties & Location

* Manage complex clinical cases with high‑level skills across a broad spectrum of diagnoses.
* Deliver services in settings across NHS Lanarkshire.
* Work collaboratively with clinical and allied health teams.
* Duties may vary with client group and service demands.


Qualifications

* Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC registration.
* Masters‑level education or working towards it.
* Post‑graduate expertise within speciality with breadth of knowledge to lead safely and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and standards.
* Advanced specialist knowledge of AAC systems and related conditions.
* Evidence of application of advanced practice skills and clinical judgement.
* Leadership / management experience and further education/CPD.
* Full UK/EU/EEA driving licence.


Desirable

* Attendance at specialist short courses and training up to Masters level.
* Member of RCSLT.
* Postgraduate leadership/management training.
* Experience in AAC, training others, developing guidelines.


Contract & Working Pattern

Permanent, part‑time, 18.50 hours per week (pro‑rata salary).


Location

Speech and Language Therapy within Lanarkshire.
