We are working with a secondary school in Wigan who are looking for amitted and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. The successful candidate will work across all year groups, providing targeted support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as those with behavioural challenges.
Your new role
1. Provide one-to-one support tailored to individual student needs, helping them engage with learning and school life.
2. Deliver structured interventions for SEND students, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills programmes.
3. Support students with behavioural difficulties through positive behaviour strategies and mentoring.
4. Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and the SENCO to implement and review individual support plans.
5. Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and reports.
What you'll need to succeed
6. Experience working with SEND and/or students with behavioural needs in a school setting.
7. A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
8. Strongmunication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
9. Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and SEND interventions.
10. Relevant qualifications (, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Team Teach, or similar) are desirable.
