A highly respected Building Contractor and Development business is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to join its senior leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial strategy of a market‑leading organisation, headquartered in Glasgow and recognised for its innovative approach to sustainable property, asset management, and customer experience.
Your new company
Our client is a long‑established, Scottish headquartered group with an impressive and diverse portfolio across commercial property, workspace solutions, and associated services. The business is continuing to expand its market presence and is now looking to appoint a Commercial Director who will drive commercial performance, strengthen strategic partnerships, and support long‑term growth objectives.
Your new role
As Commercial Director, you will be responsible for leading the commercial function across the group, ensuring the effective management of commercial contracts, pricing strategy, and commercial governance. You will act as a key advisor to the Executive Team, providing robust commercial insight and driving commercial value across existing and new ventures.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing and executing the group’s commercial strategy
2. Leading commercial negotiations, contract management and partnership agreements
3. Identifying and evaluating new revenue opportunities
4. Enhancing commercial processes, governance and risk management
5. Providing strategic commercial input to major development and investment projects
6. Leading, mentoring and developing a high‑performing commercial team
7. Working closely with operational, financial and property teams across the organisation
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be an accomplished commercial leader with a strong background in property, real estate, infrastructure, or a closely related sector. You will bring a blend of strategic thinking and hands‑on commercial expertise, along with excellent negotiation, stakeholder, and leadership skills.
