We are seeking an exceptional Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This strategic post leads the operational and business management functions of the school and is central to ensuring excellent support services that enable the very best outcomes for our students. Salary & Contract Details Grade 11 – £50,269 – £54,495 per annum ( £26.06 – £28.25 per hour ) Flexible working available/Condensed working week Option for Term Time Additional Weeks OR Full Year contract Hybrid working opportunities, with the option for some working from home following the induction period The Role As Support Services Manager, you will lead, manage, and continually improve several core operational functions, including: Facilities and Premises Management Financial Management and Budget Strategy Human Resources Administration Office and Administrative Services Data and Information Systems (including BROMCOM) Health & Safety and compliance Governance support You will provide strategic advice to the Headteacher, SLT and Governors, ensure systems are efficient and compliant, and manage staff across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities Lead and monitor support service operations, policies, and whole school systems. Manage financial administration, budgeting, modelling, procurement, and compliance. Oversee HR processes including recruitment, induction, appraisal, and staff development. Manage support staff teams including office, premises, catering, cleaning, and technical staff. Ensure efficient operation and accuracy of data systems, including statutory returns. Lead Health & Safety and ensure compliance with legislation and school policies. Prepare and present high-quality reports to SLT, Governors and external agencies. Liaise professionally with parents, pupils, staff, external partners, and the wider community. About You We are looking for an experienced and confident professional who brings: Essential Experience Experience working at a management level within a business environment. Strong understanding of financial and operational management. Qualifications/Training Degree in Business Administration, NCSL Diploma in School Business Management, or equivalent qualification/experience. Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and codes of practice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams. High level planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills. Accuracy, attention to detail and confidence in handling confidential information. Ability to influence, negotiate and build positive relationships at all levels.
