I am hiring for Carpenter Location: Stafford (Onsite, 5 days per week) Job Description: We are hiring a Carpenter to support MOD operations at the DE&S Deca site in Stafford. The successful candidate will work on wooden packaging, custom builds, and container/pallet fabrication, ensuring high quality standards and accurate interpretation of technical drawings. Key Responsibilities: • Construct and assemble wooden containers, pallets, and packaging units • Read and interpret technical drawings and designs • Operate hand tools, battery-operated tools, and workshop equipment • Support shop fitting and construction-related carpentry tasks • Ensure quality compliance and safety standards on-site • Use basic IT tools for documentation and communication (Microsoft Office) Requirements: • Carpentry, joinery, or construction background • Experience with wooden packaging, pallet making, or shop fitting (preferred) • FLT license beneficial but not mandatory • Advanced City & Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent experience • Eligible for onsite work at MOD Stafford Contract Details: • Contract Length: Until 31/03/2026 (potential extension and possible permanent opportunity) • IR35 Status: Inside • Pay Rate: £15.13 p/hour PAYE or £20.54 p/hour Umbrella Key Skills: Carpentry, Joinery, Construction, Shopfitting, Woodworking, Palletmaking, Drawings, Handtools, PowerTools, MicrosoftOffice, FLT
