Retrofit Consultant – Home-Based\n\nExample Recruitment Group is proud to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of energy efficiency and sustainable housing. We are currently seeking an experienced Retrofit Consultant to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, with the flexibility to be home-based and travel regularly throughout Birmingham and the surrounding areas, and nationwide as required.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about retrofit and decarbonisation to make a real impact within a growing, purpose-driven organisation. The role also offers long-term career progression.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Retrofit Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of domestic retrofit projects across the UK.
Acting as a Retrofit Coordinator under PAS2035, you will manage assessments, oversee compliance, and provide trusted advisory services to clients in the public and social housing sectors.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Support clients in developing tailored retrofit strategies aligned with their sustainability goals\n\n * Coordinate and oversee the work of Retrofit Assessors across multiple regions\n\n * Guide projects from initial assessment through to final evaluation, ensuring quality and compliance\n\n * Offer funding advice and technical guidance to clients\n\n * Represent the organisation at meetings, workshops, and industry events\n\n * Maintain quality systems and ensure robust reporting processes\n\n * Schedule and manage site visits effectively to optimise nationwide travel\n\n * Act as a key contact and source of expertise in building physics, heating, and ventilation systems\n\nCandidate Profile\n\n * Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management (required)\n\n * Accreditation as a Retrofit Coordinator\n\n * Strong understanding of PAS2035 and domestic retrofit best practices\n\n * Experience in construction project management or M&E coordination\n\n * Knowledge of building energy modelling tools such as SAP or PHPP\n\n * DEA or Retrofit Assessor qualification (desirable)\n\n * Excellent communication, organisation, and self-management skills\n\n * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based tools\n\n * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance\n\nPackage & Benefits\n\n * Competitive salary\n\n * 10% car allowance\n\n * 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n\n * Pension scheme\n\n * Cycle to Work scheme\n\n * Health and wellbeing support (digital GP, mental health sessions, health checks, fitness resources)\n\n * Recognition and rewards programme\n\n * Cashback on medical and dental expenses (via optional scheme)\n\n * Discounts on retail, travel, and gym memberships\n\n * Free will writing service\n\nAdditional Information\n\nCandidates must have the right to work in the UK.
