Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks) We are seeking patient and caring Support Workers for Bara, born in 2018. Bara is a delightful and engaging girl who lives with her parents and younger sister. She enjoys visiting the park, having books read to her, colouring, nursery rhymes and painting. Bara attends a local special school directly located opposite her new house in Nursling. Bara sustained a neurological injury at birth which has resulted in a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy affecting all 4 limbs and developmental delay. Bara is non-weight bearing and requires support for all transfers, she uses a specialist buggy outdoors. Bara requires specialist support to maintain her posture. Bara is doubly incontinent but is able to communicate when she needs changing. She is making good progress with her verbal language and is supported by a team of therapists. Your role will be to assist Bara with her personal care needs, supporting her with eating/drinking, transfers between her home equipment and supporting her to play and participate in home-based activities and therapies after school. The role may also include taking her on trips out, supporting her to attend clubs or activities, and being available on occasional evenings (to provide babysitting for both children), to allow the parents some respite for an evening out. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to join a dedicated family, and supportive care team to develop existing skills and support this very special little girl.
