Overview
We are looking for a Patient Environment Assistant (Porter) 37.5 hours per week flexible rota over 7 days. May include weekends. The aim of the role is to support the clinical teams in maintaining the optimum environment for our patients. The main duties are to support patient movement, removal and disposal of waste, handling of medical gases. You should be hard working, punctual and able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
Essential criteria
* Driving Licence
* Basic Numeracy and literacy skills
* Previous operational manual handling experience
* Ability to travel between the Trust sites as required
* Flexible approach to work patterns when required
* Deal with day to day workloads linked to hygiene procedures and able to follow written cleaning schedules
* Reporting equipment breakdown and faults on work equipment to supervisors
Desirable criteria
* NVQ or BICS qualification in cleaning sciences or equivalent
* Certificate in COSHH
* Certificate in Health and Safety
* Knowledge of cleaning in a large setting or Health Care environment
* Able to communicate within a team and provide feedback to colleagues and line managers
* Deal with a diverse range of people face to face
* Deal with internal and external communication using both verbal and written material
* Having the abilities in listening, sharing and receiving support and advice

Salary and application notes
Please note the salary advertised is for full time hours. If the post is less than 37.5 hours per week, the salary will be pro-rata. For posts on Agenda for Change pay-scales, new entrants normally commence on the first pay point of the relevant band. This vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received.
