Senior Social Work Practitioner– Children’s Locality Team

Pay Rate: £41 per hour

We’re looking for an experienced and committed Qualified Social Worker to join a Children’s Locality Team in South Wales — a key role supporting children and families through Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, supportive, and forward-thinking team where your work truly makes a difference.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Hold a mixed caseload of CIN, CP, and care proceedings cases
2. Build strong relationships with children and families to drive meaningful change
3. Make clear, evidence-based assessments and decisions about the right interventions
4. Collaborate with other professionals across education, health, and legal services
5. Maintain high standards of practice and statutory compliance
This role includes flexible working – manage your own diary while meeting statutory requirements.
Who We’re Looking For:
6. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
7. 4+ years post-qualified experience, ideally in children's services
8. Strong knowledge of Child Protection legislation and safeguarding frameworks
9. Skilled in building trust with children and families
10. Creative, flexible, and solutions-focused approach
11. Excellent communication and report writing skills
12. Confident in multi-agency working and court proceedings
