Background and Purpose of the Role The FAW has three National Training Centres: its Elite Centre and HQ at the Vale Resort; and two National Development Centres at Dragon Park in Newport and Colliers Park in Wrexham. The National Football Development Centre at Dragon Park is a unique football hub in a prime location which was opened as an FAW centre in 2019. The role will be primary based on reception at Colliers Park will have a number of responsibilities in this area to ensure all users of the site are welcome and all queries are dealt with. The Caretaker will also be responsible, as part of the facilities team, for the smooth running of Colliers Park from a day to day perspective. Key areas of Accountability/Responsibility To undertake a wide range of duties including being able to carry out minor maintenance repairs, carry out safety checks as required and ensure adequate records are maintained. To undertake cleaning duties as required to always ensure the presentable condition and smooth operation of the training centre. Carry out minor maintenance repairs to the building To ensure that all rooms and facilities at the training centre are well-maintained and available in a clean and tidy condition To act as a key holder for the building and assist in opening and closing of facilities. To report any building repairs that become necessary to the appropriate staff members. To carry out weekly health and safety audits for the site Carry out routine fire safety checks, keep records of fire alarm testing To assist in maintaining the appearance of the external property including lawns Assisting with the day-to-day operational functionality of the office and facility including monitoring condition and upkeep of the building. Set up for conference and meeting room bookings Assist in the set up and close down of pitches Monitoring stock levels for the site and ordering where required. Person Specification Qualifications / Experience A maintenance background would be preferred Keen interest in sports and leisure Skills / Knowledge A good knowledge of H&S management A good knowledge of common maintenance techniques A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work independently Ability to multi-task and good organisational skills Role Specific Requirements The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Willingness to work flexibly and unsociable hours from time to time as and when required including evenings and weekends.
