SEND Specialist Tutor Job - 1:1, Seaton
Prospero Teaching is looking for SEND Specialist Tutors to deliver bespoke tuition packages on a 1:1 basis to young people with SEND who cannot currently access mainstream education.
Responsibilities
* Create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupil education and boost attainment levels.
* Support pupils who have disengaged from learning, who feel anxious about attending school, or whose needs aren’t sufficiently supported at school.
* Help re-engage a pupil in their learning, offer structure back into their daily routine, continue their educational development and support their reintegration into school.
* Monitor pupil progress with weekly reports in collaboration with Prospero.
Contract/Position Details
* Location: Various locations across Seaton
* Position: SEND Specialist Tutor
* Type of work: Contract
* Start date: ASAP
* Duration: Until the pupil is able to reintegrate into a mainstream/special school
* End date (if applicable): N/A
* Contract type: Temporary
* Hours: Part time (6 - 15 hours per week, per student)
* Minimum rate of pay: £25 per hour (negotiable)
Experience, Training and Qualifications
* QTS or equivalent
* Possess UK classroom teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with ASD or ADHD is essential
* Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
* Experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils
Eligibility
* Hold the right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide two professional child-related references
