Head of Music (A-Level & BTEC)

A well-established Jewish secondary school in Bushey is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Music to lead and develop the Music department from September. The successful candidate will teach A-Level Music and BTEC Music, while providing strong subject leadership and contributing to the wider life of the school.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Music specialist looking to take on a leadership role within a supportive, values-driven school community.
The Role
* Leading the Music department, including curriculum planning and development
* Teaching A-Level and BTEC Music
* Supporting and inspiring pupils across academic and practical music pathways
* Managing resources, enrichment opportunities and performance activities
* Taking on Form Tutor responsibilities
* Contributing positively to the wider school community
The Ideal Candidate
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Strong experience teaching A-Level and/or BTEC Music
* Previous experience leading, or ready to step into, a Head of Department role
* A confident communicator with strong organisational and leadership skills
* Passionate about music education, performance and enrichment
* ECTs will be considered if they can demonstrate readiness for responsibility

* Fridays are half days, supporting a positive work–life balance
* Competitive salary offered, dependent on experience
