Salary: Up to £40,831.30 per annum (including sleep-in shifts and on-call payments)
Specific Hours: 39 hours per week

Your Role: Main Purpose of Job
As our Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager with the daily operations of the home. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality care while promoting the rights, wellbeing, and individual needs of each young person in line with our organizational policies.
You will guide our dedicated staff team, ensuring that our practices meet all legislative, safeguarding, and regulatory standards. Your contributions will help us achieve positive outcomes for young people while upholding our values and commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Service and Practice Management
* Deliver high-quality care in compliance with legislation and safeguarding requirements.
* Ensure staff are trained and knowledgeable about Health and Safety legislation.
* Assist with accurate record-keeping and contribute to quality assurance systems.
* Promote effective childcare practices that encourage continuous improvement.
* Prepare for and lead internal and external meetings.
* Participate in the on-call rota and provide sleep-in cover as needed.
* Produce evaluative reports and maintain regulatory documentation.
* Make operational decisions in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Human Resource Management
* Support recruitment efforts, ensuring all safer recruitment checks are completed.
* Assist in staff induction, supervision, and appraisal processes.
* Facilitate staff development through mandatory training and CPD.
* Help manage staff rotas and oversee expense claims.
* Conduct investigations into complaints and disciplinary matters.
Resource Management & External Relations
* Assist in monitoring budgets and financial processes.
* Report maintenance issues to ensure a safe and compliant environment.
* Represent the organization positively in all external interactions.
* Liaise with commissioners regarding placements and admissions.
What We’re Looking For: Required Attributes
* A commitment to delivering high-quality care and education.
* Experience in leading or managing a team.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
* Minimum Level 3 Children & Young People qualification.
* Level 5 Leadership & Management, or a willingness to complete.
* Understanding of the needs of vulnerable young people.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
* Emotional resilience when working with challenging behavior.
* Full UK driving licence and access to transport.
* Flexibility and reliability to contribute to organizational development.
