Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) is a new and growing area for the NHS and InHealth; we support the NHS with software, triage services, and mobile CT scanning to help detect lung cancer early and save lives.
About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and detail‑oriented Lung Cancer Screening Support Officer to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety across the lung cancer screening pathway through a process known as failsafe – making sure no patient is missed or left behind.
This is more than just an administrative role. It’s ideal for someone with a background in a GP surgery, care home, or healthcare setting, who understands the importance of care, empathy, and precision in supporting patients through potentially life‑changing journeys.
What You’ll Do
* Carry out regular failsafe checks to ensure patient safety across the LCS pathway
* Monitor patients from invitation through to follow‑up or discharge
* Communicate with clinical teams, GPs, and stakeholders
* Respond to patient and stakeholder queries via phone, email, and post
* Maintain accurate records and follow all failsafe procedures
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a healthcare or patient‑facing role is desirable (e.g. GP surgery, care home, hospital)
* A genuine passion for helping others and making a positive difference
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection (GDPR)
* Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure
