Duties and Responsibilities
As a Senior Bartender, I will support the Director of Bars and assume responsibility for the efficient operation of:
* Supervising the bar service and monitoring guest satisfaction.
* Organizing opening and closing procedures.
* Communicating any departmental issues to the Bars Manager to improve offerings and operations.
* Managing cost control and maximizing profitability.
* Attending regular meetings and briefings to stay informed of policies, procedures, special events, improvement plans, and guest feedback.
* Greeting guests on arrival, using their names when possible, in an efficient and friendly manner.
* Answering the outlet telephone courteously and efficiently as per standards.
* Inspecting the condition and cleanliness of menus and wine lists, ensuring availability, and updating them as needed.
* Being well-versed with beverage offerings, including preparation, ingredients, and presentation.
* Using appropriate glassware for different beverages.
* Ensuring prompt and efficient service of all beverages according to standards.
* Knowing guests' preferences regarding drinks throughout their stay.
* Preparing mis-en-place for cocktails and drinks prior to service.
* Ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction with beverage requests during service.
* Having comprehensive knowledge of all outlet menus and operational hours.
* Recommending and promoting menu items, upselling when appropriate.
* Checking guest satisfaction and ensuring correct billing procedures to minimize rebates, and bidding farewell to guests.
* Adhering strictly to LQA standards.
Qualifications
To succeed as a Senior Bartender, I must possess the necessary qualifications, skills, and experience in a similar role within luxury hotels, including:
* A high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in a similar operational role. A hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.
* Experience in cocktail-making, beverage service, and garnishing, with excellent knowledge of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks.
* Familiarity with food and beverage terminology, operations, wine service, costs, menu development, food and hygiene standards, and inventory control.
* Fluency in English; additional languages are preferred.
