Estimator (Carpentry & Joinery)
Location: Woking Office BasedSalary: £65,000 £75,000 (DOE)Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
Established carpentry & joinery contractor in Woking is looking for a commercially capable Estimator who can take real ownership of the pre-construction function with involvement in the wider commercial process.
This role isnt just take-offs and sending quotes.
You will be heavily involved in pricing, commercial input, and supporting project delivery through to final account where required.
The Role
* Pricing carpentry & joinery packages (residential & commercial)
* Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documents
* Producing detailed take-offs and cost breakdowns
* Subcontractor & supplier enquiries
* Value engineering input
* Supporting valuations and variations where required
* Working closely with Directors on commercial strategy
This is ideal for someone currently working as:
* Estimator within a carpentry or joinery contractor
* Estimator within a fit-out subcontractor managing carpentry packages
* QS / Estimator looking for a more commercially rounded role
What Theyre Looking For
* Strong estimating experience within carpentry, joinery or fit-out
* Good understanding of labour outputs and package pricing
* Comfortable handling commercial discussions
* Able to support basic QS functions (variations, cost tracking, valuations)
* Organised, commercially aware and self-sufficient
You must understand how a subcontractor business makes money - not just how to build a rate.
