Summary
We’re looking for a General Cleaner with the practical skills and eye for detail to keep Washington Old Hall in excellent condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.
Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 416 hours per year.
Washington Old Hall is open Thursday - Monday from February to October. During opening you'll be responsible for cleaning some of the public spaces including toilets, exhibition room and admissions plus staff & volunteer areas. The property opens 5 days a week including weekends and holidays so weekend and bank holiday working is an essential part of the role. The hours are flexible within a framework - generally you'll work 2 hours per day during opening times and you may choose to do mornings, early evenings or both so long as the property is ready to receive visitors at 11am.
Salary: £12.75 per hour - The advertised salary for this role will be in effect from 1st April.

What it's like to work here
At the heart of historic Washington village is the picturesque stone manor house, Washington Old Hall. Steeped in fact, folklore, and half-truths, it’s colourful history spans centuries. Alongside the hall, the garden and nuttery provide a tranquil oasis, much used and loved by local people.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be helping with the day-to-day cleaning and presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter-picking, both inside and outdoors, form a core part of this role. You’ll aim for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after.
