Your new companyA respected not-for-profit organisation in Manchester is seeking a Accountant to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within an organisation that delivers vital services to the community.
Your new roleAs the Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will be responsible for:
1. Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting year-end financial statements
2. Supporting budget holders with forecasting and financial planning
3. Managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset registers
4. Overseeing cashflow, banking, and investment transactions
5. Supporting the audit process and ensuring compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements
6. Driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting
What you'll need to succeedYou will have:
7. AAT qualification (or equivalent)
8. Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
9. Knowledge of charity financial policy, VAT regulations, and payroll processes
10. Experience managing cashflow and preparing management accounts
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector is highly desirable.
