We're seeking a confident, hands-on HR professional to join Thomson Reuters as an HR Advisor on a fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll partner with and support multiple business clients while working collaboratively with our HR team to deliver on our strategic people agenda across our global enterprise.
Our HR Advisor role provides specialist support to employees across aligned business groups through multiple channels including email, phone, and face-to-face interactions. As the primary HR service delivery contact, you'll guide employees and resolve their queries while developing deep expertise in a specialised area such as Immigration/Visa support, Sickness/Occupational Health, or Leave of Absence/Family Friendly policies. Additionally, you'll contribute to UKI projects and local initiatives focused on enhancing our Service Delivery capabilities.
This position is offered as maternity cover on a fixed-term basis, with an expected contract duration of 6 months.
About the Role
As our HR Advisor, you will:
1. Provide generic guidance to managers and employees on local policies and procedures.
2. Act as a knowledge expert in a specific field, either Immigration, Sickness & Occupational Health or leave of absences & family friendly policies and will partner closely with the UKI People Face to Face team within said specific field.
3. Take ownership of low to medium Employee Relations cases, being supported by the local ER Specialist.
4. Work with the HR Partner team to design and deliver training on HR Policies, Procedures and Workday to improve Manager and Employee capability.
5. Act as the centre of expertise for benefits related queries.
6. Assist with drawing up redundancy documentation where volume dictates.
7. Respond to queries regarding the Workday system (e.g. system navigation).
8. Liaise and partner closely with our payroll team to ensure changes are affected in a timely manner.
9. Contribute to elements of HR projects and input into actions and overall objectives.
10. File into employee files and ensure continued compliance in line with Data Protection legislation.
About You
To be our HR Advisor, you will likely have:
11. At least 1 or 2 years as a HR Generalist (preferably in HR Shared Service function)
12. Knowledge and prior experience using Workday
13. Contributing to HR initiatives in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment
14. Business, HR, or relevant university degree (desired)
15. Good level of IT skills with Microsoft office in Word and Excel
16. Excellent written and verbal communication
17. Able to multi-task and prioritize workload as well as helping others.
18. Interview and questioning people effectively, identifying and evaluating risks,
19. Implementing, reinforcing policy, procedure or legal obligations.
