What you’ll be doing as a Teaching Assistant
In schools across Ellesmere Port, your responsibilities may include:
* Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons across different age groups
* Helping pupils stay focused, motivated and confident in the classroom
* Providing 1:1 or small-group support to boost academic, social and emotional progress
* Using positive behaviour strategies to promote a calm, supportive learning environment
* Preparing resources, organising learning spaces and supporting classroom routines
* Assisting pupils with additional needs to ensure they feel included and able to learn at their own pace
* Following safeguarding guidance and prioritising pupil wellbeing at all times
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need direct school experience — we welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including:
* Care or support settings
* Youth work or mentoring roles
* Sports coaching or activity leadership
* Health and social care
* Customer-facing or community-based jobs
We’re looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* A calm, patient and resilient approach
* Confidence using initiative while still being a great team player
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
* An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
